To design, code, verify, test, document, amend, and secure data pipelines and data stores according to agreed architecture, solution designs, standards, policies and governance requirements. To monitor and report on own progress and proactively identify issues related to data engineering activities. To collaborate in reviews of work with others where appropriate
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- A degree or Diploma in Business Commerce or Information Technology.
- MS SQL, Data Lake technologies & databases, Cloud data engineering tooling, services & storage layers (Synapse, S3, Spark and ADLS etc.
- Structured, semi-structured & unstructured Data usage, Certification in Data Engineering, DEVOPS, Security and Analytics services.
Experience
- Understanding of data Management pipelining and performance optimisation, data principles, how data fits in an organisation, including customers, products and transactional information. Knowledge of integration patterns, styles, protocols and systems theory.
- Experience in building databases, warehouses, reporting and data integration solutions. Experience building and optimising big data data-pipelines, architectures and data sets. Experience in creating and integrating APIs. Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Experience in database programming languages including SQL, PL/SQL, SPARK and or appropriate data tooling. Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
Additional Information
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and test complete data architecture, allowing for data-led and data driven decision making.
- Analyse data elements and systems, data flow, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to conceptual physical and logical data models.
- Identify and recommend internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimising data delivery, and write scripts to automate manual and repetitive processes.
- Liaise with technology colleagues and segment/country data teams to understand viable data solutions within architectural guidelines.
- Contribute to automation initiatives and help identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimising data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc
- Create data tooling enabling data consumers in building and optimising data consumption, taking integration and usage patterns into account.
