Prime Video is an industry leading, high-growth business and a critical driver of Amazon Prime subscriptions, which contribute to customer loyalty and lifetime value. Prime Video is used daily by a massive audience and accessed through a variety of devices including mobile, desktop, Fire TV, game consoles, smart TVs and Blu-ray players.

Prime Video Marketing Analytics is a rapidly growing team that uses machine learning, econometrics, and data science to optimize Amazon’s media spending strategies on Amazon Originals and third party content, driving customer engagement and Prime member acquisition. Key responsibilities of Prime Video data scientist include the following:
· Playing an integral role in developing a roadmap to expand and enhance marketing analytics for Prime Video.
· Developing creative statistical and/or machine learning models to optimize media planning of Amazon Originals to grow Amazon Prime user acquisition and engagement.
· Improving model usability by analyzing customer behavior and gathering data from business owners and other tech teams. Incorporating new data sources to improve model performance.
· Identifying and tracking performance metrics.
· Working along other scientists on the team to develop production systems to support decision making.
To summarize, the data scientist will join our team to build innovative models for measuring the impact of marketing spending and to guide Prime Video’s media planning strategy. We will leverage the Big Data from Amazon customers and video content to discern causality of advertising spending on Prime member acquisition and customer engagement, enabling optimization of millions of dollars of our media planning within each planning cycle.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree
· 3+ years of experience with data scripting languages (e.g SQL, Python, R etc.) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, or Matlab)
· 2 years working as a Data Scientist
· 3+ years of experience producing models and analytics for business applications
· Breadth of experience in standard machine-learning and statistical modeling tools and techniques (e.g. double machine learning, random forests, gradient-boosted regression, LASSO, logistic regression)
· Experience in programming in R, Python, Stata or similar languages and maintaining code repositories in git
· Experience with data visualization and presentation, turning complex analysis into insight
· Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, or related fields

Preferred Qualifications

· Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, or related fields
· Excellent quantitative modeling, statistical analysis skills and problem-solving skills. Sophisticated user of statistical tools
· Experience collaborating with software development teams, applied scientists, business intelligence or other technical roles
· Excellent communication including direct correspondence with senior leadership
· Demonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in an agile, dynamic environment
· Experience with AWS Big Data tools (EMR, Redshift, Sagemaker, glue)
