Job Description

Team presentation and main goal:

You will integrate the Financial Data Integrity department (FDI), inside the Finance division, which oversees the labelling of financial data for CIB activities of Natixis (balance sheet and off-balance sheet).

This department counts about 140 people with a target to be bilocated (80 in Porto and 60 in Paris).

You will join a team of 9 people in Porto.

As a Data Analyst, for of a major French banking institution with international dimension, you will:

  • Support data quality initiative for internal & regulatory requirement.
  • Participate in the data monitoring for CIB activities (Financing, Global market).

You will be part of a bi-localised team with a local manager and a functional manager Paris based, with regular interactions Paris team and you will be in contact with the Operations department (middle and back offices), the other teams of FDI & the internal Finance partners, and Finance IT teams.

Main tasks and goals:

Monitoring and analysing data at the granular level to ensure the quality of the data required for all financial reporting or indicators (ALM, Solvency, Liquidity, FINREP,…):

  • Set up meetings with final internal partners to do a post-mortem of quarterly closing;
  • Study and propose new controls to be implemented or to evolve existing controls (especially completeness, existence, accuracy, consistency, or freshness controls):
  1. Analyze the needs of the final internal partners;
  2. Perform database queries to study the relevance of results;
  3. Test and launch in production new controls;
  • Controlling the data acquisition & treatment on the financial chain inputs, along the flow;
  • In collaboration with the IT teams, you would be the guarantor of the data model of the dataset feeding the production systems of finance;
  • Detecting anomalies & analyzing the root causes;
  • Reporting and alerting the management and the internal partners (accounting and ratio teams);
  • Defining remedial short and long term actions;
  • Writing and updating of operational procedures;
  • Support the data sourcing activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong background / education in a quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience;
  • Advanced degree in a core STEM subject (preferred);
  • 5+ years of experience working with Data Analysis and creating impactful solutions;
  • Ability to manage projects;
  • Great skills with data modelling and ability to retrieve & analyse data, and use data viz & data prep tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, Quicksight, Google Analytics, ...) and Advanced SQL skills;
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, VBA, PowerPoint,…);
  • Previous experience working on a Finance department (preferred);
  • Advanced data modelling skills;
  • Proficient with Advanced SQL, Power BI, Excel, VBA and other data viz & prep tools;
  • Fully work proficient in English;
  • Programming skills in Python and other relevant languages (preferred).

Additional Information

Early morning. Campo 24 de Agosto. In 4 minutes, you are clocking in at the office. After grabbing a cup of coffee and fresh fruit, pick up your laptop and choose your spot for the day. It's going to be a busy one: French class before lunch and, just after, quick medical appointment at Natixis doctor's office.
 
Lunch break. Outside in the big terrace (look at your crops at the Urban Garden; ready to harvest!) or, if you feel like stretching your legs, walk downtown to grab lunch.
 
Back inside. Quick sprint review (working together anywhere means virtual happy birthday to that colleague in Paris that just turned 35). The afternoon went flying (tasks, reports, calls, some jokes with your teammates). End it on a high note: just one PlayStation game or the final match for that ping-pong tournament.
 
Tomorrow, you complete that certified technical training and the day after, you will work from home, taking advantage to finally do that online course on Udemy. Once you are done with your tasks for the day, you can visit the office for a board games session or show up at the rehearsal of one of Natixis bands. If that is too steady for you, meet your colleagues to surf some waves or join them in a football match.
