Working at Atlassian
Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
Atlassian is seeking a Summer intern to join the Finance (F&PA) Data and Analytics team to help drive Atlassian’s continued success.
More about our team
The FP&A team is a hardworking and collaborative team with a mix of technology industry, consulting and financial services background. We encourage decision-making at every level and highly value an open-minded approach and organisational openness. We work closely with business leaders across multiple functions including product, GTM and finance to support the Company’s continued growth. You'll join a team that is not only smart, motivated, passionate about Atlassian's products and customers, but also fun to work with.
You will be currently enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program and completing your studies by January 2025 and be able to commit to a 12 week full-time (38hrs/week) internship from late November 2023 until late February 2024. (We may be able to flex on this slightly if your course timetable does not allow for a 12 week placement during this timeframe).
One important note: Unfortunately, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

More about you

  • You love working a job that can change at a moments notice. You are not phased by complexity and volume of data nor the dynamic sources and platforms where these datasets may reside, and understand the value this data provides when we make critical business decisions. You thrive in an environment where you are charting your own course and working on problems for which there is no clear solution; where creativity is as crucial as your ability to write code. You are someone who thrives in a high performing team and enjoys working in a dynamic environment with plenty of opportunities to learn and develop. With strong stakeholder engagement skills, you are able to juggle competing priorities and deliver on deadlines.

On your first day, we’ll expect you to have

  • Expert level SQL knowledge
  • Familiarisation within data visualisation, data wrangling and data discovery tools
  • An excellent communicator and passionate to collaborate with global, multi-functional teams
  • A willingness to accept failure, learn and try again

  • It's preferred, but not required, that you have:
  • A degree in Computer Science, Business, Statistics, Finance or a related analytical field
  • Experienced in Tableau or other visualisation tools
  • Other programming skills (some combination of Python, JavaScript and Java. Python highly preferred)
  • Technology or Software / SaaS industry experience

Our perks & benefits
