About the job

This position is needed to help our team in building new experiences, systems and optimizations that will allow Twilio's GTM Analytics products to grow and scale to all types of users across sales. As Twilio continues to grow in size, reach and complexity, so too will the analytics and product strategy and thus the solutions needed to support the business. In this role, you will be tackling exciting global focused projects with great local nuances, partnerships and more!

The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. They must be self-directed and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Build data systems and pipelines that render data in split seconds.
  • Data Modeling OLTP and Dimensional Modeling
  • Combine raw information from multiple sources
  • Establish processes to enhance data quality and reliability
  • Build analytical tools
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts and architects across teams, on several projects.
  • Perform tasks that support the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products.

Required:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a data engineer
  • Technical expertise with data models using OLTP and Dimensional modeling
  • Expert in relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including SQL and Cassandra, Pinot.
  • Knowledge of programming languages - Java, Python, node.js
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: python data pipelines, Apache Flink
  • Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift

Desired:

  • Experience with stream-processing systems:Kafka, Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Any data engineering certificate is a plus

Location

This role will be based in our Bangalore,India office.

Approximately 10% travel is anticipated.
