Job Description

NBCUniversal is looking for an experienced data quality professional to lead data quality & integrity efforts for enterprise-wide initiatives.

The Director, Enterprise Data Quality will be responsible for ensuring a high level of data quality and integrity is maintained across enterprise platforms, taking full ownership of the data quality framework and operating model. Working closely with data vendors and a wide range of internal stakeholders, this position will oversee the strategic development and execution of quality efforts across the entire data supply chain – including onboarding, enrichment, use and transfer – as well as contribute to the ongoing operations of the team.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and contributing to operational work related to data quality and remediation efforts, and reporting on status, efficacy, and business value 
  • Collaborating with technology teams to improve data collection and storage practices 
  • Collaborating with vendors to troubleshoot and remediate – as well as identify long-term solutions for – data quality & integrity issues 
  • Develop data-driven requirements for automated reporting to investigate data anomalies 
  • Testing results of new data onboarding initiatives to ensure cleanliness and completeness of the data 
  • Performing ad hoc queries for business stakeholders and communicating results with sufficient context 
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry best practices in data quality analysis & processes to incorporate into NBCU’s DQ framework & operating model

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of primary experience in leading data quality initiatives, preferably with consumer/media data in a large organization 
  • Experience working successfully with stakeholders and partner teams to establish data quality needs and deliver results 
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to create clear and impactful decks for executive audiences
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize efforts and delegate tasks based on business value 
  • Understanding of data quality industry standards and best practices
  • Ability to collaborate and work in partnership with different parts of the organization
  • Combination of technical skill sets and business savvy to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and drive your own projects
  • BA/BS in technical or quantitative discipline, or significant relevant work experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A great storyteller and communicator, and can build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Experience with a large firm in the media or entertainment industry
  • Experience with Snowflake, AWS, Collibra, JIRA
  • Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau, QlikSense, Power BI, Domo, etc.
  • A passion for TV and movies and defining the future of entertainment.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $140,000 - $180,000 (bonus eligible)
