Hardware systems supporting data logging and offload is a key part of managing data within Autonomous Vehicles. Across multiple generations of hardware architecture, there are similarities as well as differences in supporting data logging/offload. We are looking for a strong systems engineer to work with cross functional teams to define, collect and manage requirements for related systems, components and interfaces.

This is a very multi-functional role where the candidate will have to work with our Hardware, Software, Systems and Test teams. If you're interested in working with the autonomous vehicle use cases supporting data movement and storage, then let's chat!

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals to apply transferable skills and experience from another industry, such as aerospace / avionics, defense, industrial, power, telecommunications, UAVs / drones, robotics, automated manufacturing, or medical instrumentation.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Drive the requirements definition, analysis, development, and documentation of HW systems supporting data Logging and Offload 

  • Translate systems design into testable component and interface requirements

  • Ensure requirements are published/traced in requirements management tool with approval from design, safety, security, HW and SW leads

  • Conduct requirement analysis for hardware components, systems and HW/SW integration/interfaces

  • Participate in feature requirement analysis, and conduct traceability between feature to systems and components requirements

  • Review test plans and verify test results that ensures upstream traceability to requirements

  • Triage system level technical trade offs

  • Work with design and test engineers to define metrics and success criteria, track the compliance of the requirements

 

What you must have

  • 6+ years of postgraduate experience in Systems Engineering or similar role for handling systems/component requirements

  • BS Degree or MS Degree in Engineering or other STEM field

  • Experience in breaking down feature level requirements to system/subsystem requirements

  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, JAMA, Rhapsody, etc.

  • Experience in leading and performing component related tests

 

Bonus points!

  • Knowledge in vehicle E/E architecture including familiarity with communication architecture, power distribution and actuation

  • Knowledge of storage mechanisms like SSDs, NVMes etc 

  • Familiarity with Wired (e.g., Ethernet) and Wireless (WiFi, mmWave) technology including Cloud Storage Applications

 

The salary range for this position is $122,400 - 180,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
