The Summer Internship

At Discord, we offer a personalized experience for interns, and our aim is to offer an experience that mimics what it is like to actually work here. We match qualified interns with projects and groups, based on interests and skill sets and fully embed interns within those groups for the summer. Internships are paid and are a minimum of 12 weeks, targeting a start date in June to accommodate varying school calendars. Conditions permitting, our 2023 summer internships will be remote, with an opportunity to spend a week in the office at some point during the program.

 

The Team

Join our team and help us monetize discord in a way that benefits both the user and the company– aka not ads. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to leverage our vast amounts of data to inspire new and exciting Discord features for both free and premium subscribers. You’ll also use your analytics skills to identify ways to improve our subscriber growth funnels and drive real business results.

What you'll be doing

• Analyze data to understand user behavior and user preferences, with the goal of identifying opportunities to build new features, or drive higher subscriber growth
• Designing and execute experiments in partnership with Product and Engineering
• Communicate insights and recommendations to business leads and influence strategic decision making
  
  

You’ll Thrive In This Role If (Role Requirements)...

• Currently enrolled in a Masters course of study
• Analytical mindset, with a keen ability to identify and solve complex problems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
• Strong technical skills in SQL, Python, or R
• Strong understanding of experimentation in the form of A/B testing
• Proactive and curious, with a desire to continually learn and improve skills.

Bonus Points

• Experience as a power user of Discord, or other similar platforms 

 

Salary of $73/hour*
