Junior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join the Data Ops team at BlaBlaCar. It’s a team of 6 engineers, supporting a wide department of data professionals (data engineers, data analysts and data scientists).
As a Data Engineer, your mission will be to support data professionals, by maintaining and improving the data platform. This goes from building data pipelines, to developing internal tools for machine learning and analytics, to integrating external solutions. You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain components of the data platform.
• Write code and documentation.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to support their projects.
• Occasionally integrate some external and open source solutions.

Your Qualifications

• Software programming and system design skills
• Good understanding of the data environment (including data pipelining, warehousing, analytics and ML)
• You have excellent communication skills and enjoy sharing and learning from others.
• Fluency in English
• Nice to have: Hands-on experience in distributed systems and/or stream processing
• Nice to have: Experience in a cloud based environment
