About the Technology:

Relectrify’s advanced battery management system (BMS) and inverter is comprised of three parts: hardware electronics controlling power flows inside battery packs; embedded software algorithms that inform how the hardware electronics operate; and data analytics to allow customers to monitor their batteries while also enabling Relectrify to continuously improve its algorithms.

About the Role:

This newly created data engineering position within an existing, high-performing team, provides the opportunity for you to enjoy exposure across R&D, product development, design & testing of power electronics and energy storage solutions.

Reporting to our Software Manager, you will be supported to become an expert on our product and technology, especially around data mining algorithms and pipelines; you will be able to apply your insights to support engineering decisions.

The role is ideally suited for someone with programming/scripting experience to be able to work with the software team on electronics control and algorithm design, skilled in data-driven design and problem-solving, you will also be excited by the rapidly-evolving energy and renewables industry.


Some of the specific tasks of the role include:

  • Designing and developing data acquisition/testing frameworks
  • Designing and developing data analytics software to support engineering processes
  • Designing and testing automation and data mining algorithms
  • Designing and managing data-driven research activities
  • Optimising and improving data pipelines and system architectures
  • Documenting of design, research and testing

Requirements

About You:

  • You are highly capable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in data science, electrical engineering or equivalent and 2+ years applicable workplace experience; or
  • for candidates with less than 2 yrs work experience a strong academic result demonstrable via transcript and/or final year project report
  • You have a background in electronics/electrical engineering and experience in power systems testing, data acquisition and analysis
  • You have programming/scripting experience
  • You are proficient in a scripting language: Python, R, Matlab or equivalent
  • You have experience with electronics design and simulation
  • You are comfortable operating electronics lab equipment
  • This role is full-time and strictly requires Australian working rights

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with basic database operation and SQL
  • Experience with battery testing and BMS design
  • Experience with applied statistics and machine learning
