Overview

Arkadium seeks an experienced Data Engineer to join our team. You'll have the opportunity to use various methods to transform data into useful insights for our products and to work alongside the Analytics team to create data products. We're looking someone who is proactive, a good problem solver and to drive efficiency by aligning data systems with our business goals.

This role is open to candidates based in Portugal and will remain remote for the time being.

For those in Portugal, business hours are 9-18 WEST (UTC+1).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data marts (silver, gold layers in the Databricks Lakehouse)
  • Integrate new sources to the Delta Lake (bronze layer in Databricks)
  • Write and ensure documentation is up to date
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data products
  • Ensure quality control of uploaded data (manual and automated DQ tests)
  • Design, develop and support ETL processes for loading data to and from the Delta Lake

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of database operation and DWH development principles
  • Experience with Hadoop-based technologies (Spark, Hive, Scala, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of SQL, Python/Scala
  • Experience with Databricks is a big plus
  • Experience with Airflow is a plus
  • Experience with Power BI, SSAS and other BI instruments is a plus
  • AI/ML as a plus
  • English level - Intermediate or higher.
  • All applicants must be legally authorized / have the necessary visa to work in Portugal
