About this opportunity:

The Senior Manager, Clinical Data Analytics role will join Freenome’s Real-World Data Informatics team, supporting broad data curation and analytical needs across the organization. In this role, you will lead a team of clinical data analysts responsible for data quality control, profiling datasets, and performing ad-hoc analyses to answer strategic research and product development questions. You and your team will work closely with Clinical Informaticists and Real-world Data Engineers on the Informatics team to develop and maintain an expert-level understanding of Freenome’s data assets. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you and your team will apply this expertise to determine data fitness, create and execute analysis plans and develop clear and concise reports that will inform critical product decisions and research questions. 

This work is an essential component of an integrated early cancer detection strategy that includes Freenome’s blood-based multiomics molecular assays. It will be applied practically to improve clinical care. These efforts will contribute to developing and commercializing a portfolio of early cancer detection products that will enable payers, providers, and patients to catch cancers early when curative intervention is most achievable.  This position reports to the Director, Clinical Informatics, RWD and can be on-site at our headquarters in South San Francisco, California or be hybrid, or remote. 

What you’ll do:

  • Direct management and mentorship of up to five clinical data analysts
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather and understand clinical data analysis requirements and determine data fitness 
  • Translate requests into written analytical plans that can be understood by multiple audiences, including analysts, researchers, product managers, and leadership
  • Manage the entire projects lifecycle for you and your team, including creating project plans, monitoring and regularly reporting on progress
  • Guide your team and directly execute on analysis, visualization and reporting 
  • Hold yourself and team 100% accountable for the accuracy of results and integrity of the data
  • Create, document, and regularly report on objectives and key results for your team that align with company goals
  • Work closely with Managers, Clinical Informaticists and Real-world Data Engineers on the RWD Informatics team to stay in sync with broad cross-functional team objectives
  • Contribute to white papers, presentations, and publications as requested by researchers
  • 50% of this position would be spent directly contributing to data analytics and reporting
  • 50% of this position would be spent on direct people and project management

Must haves:

  • Master's Degree in a quantitative or closely related technical field
  • At least five years of experience analyzing healthcare data for research and/or business intelligence purposes
  • At least two years of experience managing direct reports in healthcare or clinical data analytics
  • At least two years of experience creating analytical and project plans, using Confluence, Jira, SmartSheets, Lucid Charts or similar tools
  • Expertise in SQL, and R or Python for data analysis and visualization
  • Experience working with and manipulating EHR, claim, or similar big data
  • Excellent understanding of standard healthcare terminologies
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills that can be tuned to multiple cross-functional audiences including leadership, analysts and users
  • A solutions-oriented, player-coach mindset

Benefits and additional information:

The US target range of our base salary for new hires is $174,250 - $235,000. You will also be eligible to receive pre-IPO equity, cash bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits dependent on the position offered.  Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company’s sole discretion and may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to, location, skill level, years and depth of relevant experience, and education.
