Your Mission
We are looking for a Confirmed Analytics Engineer to join the Data Carpool Supply squad. Our squad is in charge of the data products related to BlaBlaCar Carpool Inventor (trips publications and bookings). The squad builds a data warehouse on this scope to serve clean data to any of the 700 employees. The data-warehouse is built around two main components: Google BigQuery and Airflow. 
We’ll be migrating to dbt in 2023. We also provide analyses to product managers. We are also in charge of finding the optimal prices for our carpool rides. For that we own pricing related backends that serve prices to our members. 
Your role is to own our carpool inventory data from the raw layer to the warehouse layer. You will work closely with 2 Data Analysts, 2 Data Scientists and 2 Software Engineers on your team to continuously provide data products to make decisions on the product. 
You will also contribute to the Data Engineering Chapter, a horizontal group of Data Engineers.  Its mission is to improve our tooling  and make efficient the day-to-day of a Data Engineer by innovative technologies, processes etc. 
Over the past 3 years, the scope covered by Data Engineers tripled, which led the Data Organization to reformulate as a Data Mesh. This setup allows producing data products faster and autonomously as a team dedicated to a specific data domain. You will contribute to the building of this data mesh. 

Your Responsibilities

  • You will be building efficient and robust data models for large volumes of data
  • You will be developing and optimizing the data workflows from the raw layer to the data mart in our data platform
  • You will be the point of communication for all Data Engineering decisions in your domain; working closely with Software Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts
  • You will contribute in the Data Engineering Chapter, defining policies and standards for data management
  • You will articulate a strategy to build a data platform; this platform enables a mesh of autonomous data domains to interoperate.

Your Qualifications

  • You have Engineering Analytics experience building models
  • You have data engineering skills building a data platform and optimizing pipelines
  • You have strong SQL skills, work experience on a cloud data warehouse is a plus
  • You have experience with Python, including testing, deployment and codebase refactoring
  • Experience with Airflow is a plus
  • You have excellent communication skills, you’re humble, and you enjoy sharing & learning from others
  • You have a results-driven and impact-oriented mindset
  • Fluency in English
