This is a great opportunity for someone interested in data visualisation & web development to use and develop their skills to help tackle climate change. We are looking for candidates with fundamental coding skills and with a strong interest in building interactive and accessible data visualisations.

New AutoMotive is a not-for-profit transport research organisation with a mission to accelerate and support the transition to electric vehicles. We use vehicle data to show consumers how they can benefit from the EV transition and to help shape and influence policy to promote EVs. We are currently developing products that unlock the data to help people plan the transition to electric vehicles - a key part of the UK’s transition to net zero carbon emissions.

Requirements

Duties will include:

  • Developing tools for consumers to navigate the transition to EVs
  • Building dashboards and portals for people to access data
  • Helping process and store data
  • Facilitating the development of data visualisations and tools to make data accessible to a wider audience
  • Assisting with the production of digital products
  • Contributing to the creation of documentation and writing up methodologies
  • Other duties as required.

Skills and experience:

Essential

  • Familiarity with a programming language (ideally JavaScript)
  • Experience in working with large datasets
  • Willingness to learn

Desirable

  • Knowledge of other programming languages (e.g. python, SQL, R)
  • Basic knowledge of Git and GitHub
  • Scientific background (i.e. maths, physics, statistics)


You’ll be a key part of New AutoMotive’s growing data team, and have the opportunity to get involved with work that helps shape and influence public policy. No prior professional experience is required, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
