What this position is all about:

We are hiring a computational biology intern to assist in the analysis of critical single-cell RNA-sequencing datasets for drug creation. Cellarity’s drug creation platform relies on the integration and analysis of high-dimensional data profiled in cells and tissues at their native resolution across the genome, transcriptome, and proteome. In this role, you will help us survey emerging genomics technologies, define value propositions for new data types, design pilot studies, and perform analyses to demonstrate how a new data modality can improve our ability to create medicines.

You will work in our Computation and Data Science (CDS) department to participate in ongoing development of our platform alongside fellow computational biologists, computational chemists, machine learning scientists, and data engineers. You will closely with lab scientists and our R&D teams to evaluate new single-cell and genomics technologies for their ability to help improve our drug creation platform.

What you would be responsible for:

  • Analyze complex single-cell RNA-sequencing datasets designed to drive our drug creation platform
  • Help develop computational approaches for best practices of single-cell analysis
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of biologists, chemists and genomics specialists to generate insights that improve our understanding of biology and disease
  • Communicate insights cross-functionally

What experiences you will need:

  • Enrolled in a Ph.D. or equivalent graduate program in Computational Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience analyzing single-cell RNA-sequencing data or similar genomics data
  • Extensive experience in Python and familiarity with R
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to think and communicate rigorously across scientific domains
