Requirements

Civica Election Services run elections for a diverse range of organisations and high-profile clients. We are currently looking for a self-motivated individual, who excels at working to a high level of detail in a diverse and often time-critical and high-pressure environment.

Joining our Results team, you will be collating votes from our postal scanning and electronic systems and processing and interrogating the data to produce voting reports. The Results team is ultimately responsible for ensuring the integrity of every election we run.

You will be dealing with several projects simultaneously, importing, processing and querying the vote data, using our standard databases (MS Access and SQL Server) to produce accurate election result, summary and breakdown reports within the defined schedules of a project, supporting the project manager in order to produce the best quality of service to our customers.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Access, Excel and Word; good knowledge of Windows operating systems, file formats and data conversion issues.


What we are looking for

  • Previous experience working with Databases, particularly MS Access or SQL Server Management Studio and working with large data sets required.
  • Experience of working in a project-based environment would be an advantage
  • Experience dealing directly with customers would be an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail; the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure within tight deadlines.
  • Well-developed communication skills: the confidence to liaise with both a technical and non-technical audience across all levels of the company and with customers.
  • An awareness of various voting systems would be an advantage (eg First Past the Post, Single Transferable Vote, Proxy voting).
  • Strong time-management; hard-working, flexible and able to oversee multiple jobs from start to finish, within the timeframes given.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to plan, complete and document projects with minimal supervision, but also seek the right advice when required.
  • The desire to and experience of working as part of a team.
  • A creative approach to problem solving and a curiosity and willingness to learn
