Senior Manager, Data Analytics - Risk/Fraud

Job Overview
Dave is looking for an experienced and passionate people leader to manage a team within our Data organization. The Senior Manager, Data Analytics will play a critical role in Dave’s risk and fraud prevention to drive growth, leading the build-out of the risk data function. This role will partner directly with senior leadership across multiple business domains to surface key insights and devise risk data strategies to improve our risk and fraud prevention/detection strategy. This position requires a capable leader and driven self-starter who is able to work with senior leadership comfortably, takes tasks from start to finish, and who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and challenging environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead and nurture a team of talented data analytics, data engineers and data scientists with a focus on risk/fraud prevention and mitigation from data perspective
• Lead data teams from various systems to collect required data from internal and external systems, design data storage structures and build performant automated data pipelines that are reliable and scalable in a fast growing data ecosystem
• Provide thought leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members regarding risk data solution and risk/fraud management
• Ensure the team has the resources and processes necessary to identify and respond to fraudulent user activity. 
• Leverage strong understanding and expertise of risk/fraud data modeling principles and modern data platforms to create logical and physical data architecture, end to end ML data  processes, automate reporting and analytics solutions
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for safeguarding Dave’s users, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
• Provide strategic influence with Senior leaders across functions and exercise control over resources, roadmap planning; as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
• Ability to create and articulate sense of purpose and common vision for Risk data team
• Well-developed listening skills and a strong ability to communicate and engage at the senior management level, both orally and in writing
• Closely collaborates with product and business owners to translate the big picture strategic vision into prioritized deliverables the team is accountable for providing
• Innovative thought leader for ensuring the risk data strategy the team is developing continues to be a cutting edge solution to solve risk/fraud use cases; responsible for fostering environment for continued learnings of recent risk/fraud best practices in ML and other analytical solutions

What You'll Need

• 7-10 years experience in risk/fraud domain as a senior risk data professional from FinTech companies 
• A successful track record of managing multiple teams
• A solid understanding of EServ financial outcomes, initiatives, strategies, and future directions, as well as organization structures to be able to see the big picture, connect the dots, and navigate organization structures with relative ease
• Experience in data modeling and information architecture including experience with Big Data, Relational Databases, streaming and batch processing
• Experience with data APIs, Data Lakes, reporting and analytics platforms
• Comfortable with streaming and big data concepts using design patterns with software like Spark, Flink, Kafka, HDFS, AirFlow, Elastic Search, and Ignite
• Strong understanding of relational & NoSQL databases, data structures, data science and business intelligence workflows
• Both technically deep and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the risk organization
• Experience with machine learning toolkits
• Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking
• Fraud subject matter expertise with deep understanding of External Fraud, Internal Fraud, & First/Third Party Fraud and ability to work with other financial crime disciplines
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
