We are distributed across multiple offices with more than 500 employees, primarily in Calabasas (Southern California), San Diego, Woodridge (Chicago) and Pleasanton (Bay Area). We also have team members in two company-owned offices in China, as well as in Europe.
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our team to work primarily in the area of customer-facing internal site search. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the field of data and site search and will be well-versed in the concepts of product management, statistical and human-centered approaches to search engine improvement, measuring search metrics, A/B testing, data cleaning, and KPI dashboards.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven strategies to improve the accuracy and relevance of our internal site search results. This will involve analyzing data to understand user behavior and search patterns and using that information to optimize search algorithms and ranking models.
You should have strong problem-solving skills and be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. You should also have excellent communication skills, as you will be working closely with cross-functional teams to gather insights and feedback from users and presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data to understand user behavior and search patterns, and use that information to optimize search algorithms and ranking models
- Identify gaps in the available data and work with product and development to improve availability of important data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and feedback from users, and use that information to improve the search experience
- Design and implement A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of different search strategies
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in the field of data and site search
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics)
- 3-5 years of experience in the field of data and site search
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL
- Experience with data visualization and analysis tools such as Tableau and Excel
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with the principles of statistical and human-centered approaches to search engine improvement, measuring search metrics, and A/B testing is a plus

Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and job level.
