Data analyst, Reporting

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join one of our finance teams in Amsterdam. In this role, you will be looking to leverage our Big Data infrastructure to deliver actionable insights and drive the automation of external reporting. You will be working together with our product and data teams on our Big Data to automate and innovate the process of reporting. You are the BI master that builds out dashboards for internal insights or a query builder, building skills on handling Big Data. We will try to help you and find your most effective path that will leverage your skills and interests. 

Whether you come from the payments space or not, we need you to be an independent and enthusiastic thinker who is curious about how the payments ecosystem works and how that fits in with global commerce.

What you’ll do

• Optimize the regulatory reporting process, following new requirements.
• Translate regulatory reporting requirements into data query languages.
• Bridge finance needs and data availability.
• Build granular reports on our Big Data infrastructure.
• Shape next generation BI dashboards.
• Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to define, test and iterate data solutions.
• Optimize and automate the regulatory reporting process.
• Back-test your knowledge of finance and gain many insights into the payments environment and new age financial products.

Who you are

• Background in a quantitative/technical field such as Econometrics, Statistics or Engineering
• Detail oriented and you want to deliver high quality work
• Motivation to lead large impactful projects
• You have a technical aptitude to address problems with data
• You have experience and are familiar in analyzing data and automating complex data handling through SQL, Python and/or R
• You have experience in data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment that requires excellent time management and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Experience with RegTech, Financial reporting and banking is a plus (an interest in learning more is a must!)
• Experience with big data tooling i.e. Pyspark / Hadoop / Airflow is a big plus, as is Excel VBA

Please note that this role is a full-time position in Amsterdam. It will require a relocation in case you live outside of the Netherlands.
