Job Description

The Data Quality and Governance Manager will lead and manage Experian Marketing Services data quality governance activities including: 1) establishing and ensuring adherence to Experian’s data governance policies and framework; 2) maintaining the highest level of quality/accuracy of Experian marketing data; and 3)  and providing data insight to Experian stakeholders to help support/drive business strategies.   The Data Quality and Governance Manager serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues. They will also work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the department.  The Data Quality and Governance Manager will report to the VP, Data Operations and Governance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and drive an enterprise data governance roadmap including strategic priorities such as implementing business unit wide data lineage framework and maintaining the highest standards of data quality
  • Establish and drive a data quality roadmap including defining and coordinating internal tests, develop business cases for third party tests, and implement standard KPIs to asses data health
  • Manage a small team of data support analysts to ensure feedback and questions are built into solutions
  • Ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirement
  • Ensure protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, processes, related tools, and data architecture
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets
  • Serve as a liaison between Business/Compliance teams and Engineering/Operational teams to ensure that business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
  • Develop & maintain a best-in-class inventory/catalogue of data, information maps, including authoritative systems, owners
  • Provide data insights to key stakeholders (product, data acquisition, strategy, engineering, leadership) to drive data driven strategic decisions of the business to achieve their objectives
  • Resolve issues escalated from Business and Functional areas data governance representative
  • Create and maintain monthly reports for leadership and stakeholders to understand data quality, trajectory of trends, identify issues.
  • Facilitate Quarterly Business Review with key stakeholders leveraging the insights gained from data quality and governance activities/systems.
  • Identify new opportunities pertaining to the use of data assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with large-scale consumer data; project management and oversight experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to articulate vision of transformation efforts and a sense of mission
  • Knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Knowledge of data-related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues (COPPA, State Consumer Data regulations, UDAAP, and Digital Marketing Industry guidelines.)
  • Knowledge of digital data assets (IP, MAID, Device IDs, CTV IDs, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data management and related technology solutions
  • Experience implementing/managing a meta-data management software
  • Proficiency in Power Point to communicate findings at the Executive level
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree (Computer Science, MIS, or Information Management preferred but not required)
