Job Description

We are looking for Senior Data Engineers who love building and pioneering while solving business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Our new Senior Data Engineer will be in the forefront of driving major projects within Engagement Factory, a Blend360 company. You’ll be working with our data engineering team to develop innovative data driven solutions that integrate distributed sources of data, perform large scale learning and reasoning, and integrate results. We are looking for a self-starting, motivated individual with knowledge of engineering best practices.

In this role, you’ll partner with our clients and work within our Data Science Solutions team as a Data Engineer. You will clean, transform, and analyze vast amounts of raw data from various systems to provide ready-to-use data to our Data Scientists. This involves both supporting ad-hoc requests as well as designing and building true production level data pipelines using well-structured code that follows true object oriented programming principals.

This opportunity will be full-time and employees can work remotely.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Math, or another related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering with a passion for data and a deep understanding of cloud technologies.
• Expert level understanding, both conceptually and in practice of Python.
• Strong understanding and experience with Scala, Spark, Pyspark
• Skills in scripting language(s) such as BASH, R, other.
• Traditional relational database and distributed data lake architecture experience.
• Expert SQL skills.
• Excellent understanding of different cloud systems such as Azure, AWS and Snowflake.
• Good understanding of enterprise coding best practices as well as general CI/CD practices.
• Expert level code architecture experience.
• Top tier Git practices with experience managing repos with a large number of contributors.
• Self-starter and strong interpersonal skills.
• Good communication and coaching skills.
