We are looking for a qualified Database developer to design stable and reliable databases, according to our company’s needs. You will be responsible for developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing databases to help users retrieve data effectively. As part of our IT team, you will work closely with developers to ensure system consistency. You will also collaborate with administrators and clients to provide technical support and identify new requirements. Communication and organization skills are keys for this position, along with a problem-solution attitude. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our database systems run effectively and securely on a daily basis.

Location: O'Fallon, Missouri 63368 (**Hybrid - ONSITE 2x per week)

Duration: 24 Months, potential Contract-to-Hire!

Top required technical skills:

• Java - advanced
• Scala - intermediate
• Hadoop - intermediate 

Desired/nice to have skills:

• Knowledge on Spark based applications - intermediate
• Knowledge on Kafka and SQL - intermediate 

Requirements

Role

• Develop scalable streaming and aggregation solutions based on Java, Spark, Scala, Kafka, Hive, Hadoop.
• Create documentation to support knowledge sharing; including flowcharts and diagrams.
• Collaborate with other team members during all phases of software development.
• Developing software utilizing open source technologies to interface distributed and relational data solutions.
• Ensure timely and accurate communication with Development Leads, Project Manager and Senior
• Management throughout the life cycle of the project

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
• Strong development experience using; Java or Scala etc.
• Experience in developing Spring Boot Webservices.
• Familiarity with Big Data technologies like Kafka, HBase, Solr, Hive, Hadoop.
• Experience in Databases RDBMS or NOSQL.
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Experience working with real-time or near real-time ingestion.
• Experience working with the Cloudera stack; Kafka, Spark, Flume, Hadoop, HBase, Solr, Hive etc. 
• Agile/Scrum methodologies 
• Experience working on CI/CD tools like Jenkins
