At Scandit, we develop smart data capture technology enabling businesses to change the way they interact with everyday objects and augment the physical world with real-time data.

Who are you?

We are looking for students with a passion for all things computer science to join our Tampere team for the Summer.

To be eligible for a Summer job at Scandit, you will need to be:

• A current student of Tampere University, who is currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Computer Science or a related field, (e.g. Robotics, Mathematics, Business Information Systems, etc.)
• A great communicator and able to speak a good level of English, (as an international team, this is our common language)

You’ll need to be curious, solution-oriented, and love to make an impact. Software engineering isn’t just a job - you live and breathe it and are ready to get stuck in!

Machine Learning

We use machine learning at Scandit not only for barcode localization but also for text and object recognition. We also use ML methods to read codes in ‘sub-optimal’ conditions, such as damaged or very small barcodes. The tech stack: Python, C++

Computer Vision Engineering

Computer Vision (CV) involves image processing, tracking, mapping, 3d reconstruction, machine learning and deep learning. We use CV to overcome challenges such as low-resolution scanning and to compensate for incomplete images. The tech stack: C++17, Python, Vulkan

C++ Engineering

The goal is to design and maintain a C++ framework involving complex computer vision and machine learning pipelines. Our C++ team produces high quality code that brings our SDKs to life across millions of devices. The tech stack: C++ 

Mobile Engineering

Our SDKs are used by millions of native Android and iOS devices around the world. The responsibilities vary but could include working on the top layer of one of our SDKs, developing public APIs, or getting involved with the prototypes and optimizing UI for demo apps. The tech stack: Swift, Kotlin, Object-C

Frontend Engineering

Frontend Engineers at Scandit design, build, and implement the user interfaces for various internal web-based tools, demo apps, and the WebSDK! The primary goal is to provide an incredible user experience with no bugs, errors, or downtime. The tech stack: JavaScript, TypeScript, React

Full-stack Engineering

Full-stack engineers create servers and databases for functionality and ensure cross-platform optimization for mobile devices. They ensure applications are responsive and strive to meet both technical and consumer needs. The tech stack: Python, Django, TypeScript, React, Postgresql, AWS/GCP

DevOps Engineering

Our Infrastructure team strive to continuously develop better tooling and infrastructure for the engineering team. They work across multiple projects building highly optimized CI/CD pipelines and develop automated tests, maintenance, and recovery tasks.The tech stack: Python, Linux, Git

Quality Assurance

This team ensures our products meet the high quality we’re renowned for amongst our customers. It involves maintaining and improving our test automation frameworks, and expanding the test coverage across a wide range of engineering projects. The tech stack: Python, Pytest, Selenium
