Data Analytics Internship

Studyportals is looking for an intern to support the Analytics and Consulting Team, based in Eindhoven (the Netherlands) (hybrid working).

In over ten years of professional operation it has grown into a popular platform amongst students worldwide, and into a leading position in the recruitment for universities around the world. We have a strong growth vision and we are now shifting the company to the next phase, in which data is becoming increasingly important.

The Analytics and Consulting Team (ACT) at Studyportals advises and assists universities and other organisations in the higher education sector to realise their ambitions in the field of international marketing and international student recruitment. Our team of consultants cover everything from strategy, branding and marketing to customer relationship management, student recruitment, market insight, competitor analysis, Google Analytics, training as well as custom services. Our areas of expertise are Analytics Consulting, and Training.

For this we are looking for a data analytics intern to support our data analyses starting February 2023 for a period of 4-6 months.

The Challenge

As a team, we aim to provide actionable advice to higher education institutions using the huge amount of data we possess. You will support this by working on various data activities, which enable delivery of dashboards, data, reports, and insights to clients.

The Activities

An internship with the chance to carry out some research and work on several tasks and projects, to provide support to the Analytics and Consulting Team (ACT) and you will be involved in the following activities:

• Big data analysis, data mining and data validation against internal and external data , with a focus on investigating how to make the best use of the data available from millions of website visitors for reliable consulting to universities across the world. • Data integration – investigate how to best consume and share data by learning about and utilizing APIs and/or data pipelines.
• Data analysis and consultancy for clients. You will be involved in practical, hands-on projects that help the recruitment of higher education institutions.
• Further crystallizing the mission, operating procedures and client base of ACT.

Requirements

The Person You Are

• Currently pursuing your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Data Science, (Applied) Statistics, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering or Quantitative Marketing
• Good knowledge of databases, data processing, data visualisation and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel)
• Know your way around Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
• Be an analytical thinker that pays great attention to details
• Have strong proficiency in English (no Dutch required), both in speaking and in writing
• Open and enjoy an environment of direct constructive feedback
• Proactive with a can-do attitude
• A good team player and fun to work with, but also able to work independently
• Able to thrive in an open and fun, but also sometimes noisy, office and to work solitary from home
