As a Data Scientist Intern, you'll learn about many aspects of the AI Customer Delivery team, including our data-driven, deep-learning-based methodology that enables any transportation company to truly maximize their revenue and accurately forecast outcomes.
This team delights new customers throughout the onboarding process, applying best-in-class AI solutions that revolutionize their revenue operations. This internship will apply technical expertise, business acumen, and intuition for innovation to solve complex, applied data science problems in real world scenarios.

What will your Journey look like at FLYR: (Responsibilities)

  • Gain an understanding of how-to transform raw, semi-structured datasets into a standardized schema in our cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Gain a foundational understanding of deep learning (including RNN and CNN).
  • Support our data scientists, data analysts and data engineers to extract insights from data.
  • Apply an inquisitive approach and build your technical skills allowing you to identify subtle patterns in massive, integrated datasets, proactively identifying source data issues.
  • Gain an understanding into airline data, including its purpose, interconnectivity, and relevance to our models.
  • Expand your communication skills to build effective, trusting relationships with internal stakeholders and customers alike.

What can you pack for this trip: (Qualifications)

  • Willingness to learn!
  • SQL – ability to write basic SQL joins, use basic window functions
  • Python skills - academic experience in using Python and are interested in learning more about common data science libraries such as Pandas and NumPy but are also able to write basic Python code that is clean, well-documented and tested.
  • Highly curious and willing to dive into data to uncover the truth and discover actionable insights.
  • You are always asking relevant questions and you know how to find answers within data.
  • Strong communicator and team player and have experience collaborating
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Experience with data visualization (Tableau, Looker, etc.) and cloud computing platforms (GCP, etc.) is a plus.
