**This is a 12 month term opportunity


As ATB’s next Data Analyst, you will build, maintain and analyze ATB Business data that enables portfolio management, process improvements and risk assessment of ATB Business. Your responsibility will have a main focus on the data of Moody’s suite of tools: CreditLens, RiskCalc, and QuikSpread.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and store data from internal and external sources by leveraging both distributed and local structures
  • Establish processes / structures based on business and technical requirements to channel data from multiple inputs and route appropriately using data structures available
  • Develop tools to facilitate data integration, analytics, data cleaning / transformation, and the deployment of ML/AI models
  • Creates and establishes design standards and assurance processes for software, systems and applications development to ensure compatibility and operability of data connections, flows and storage requirements
  • Implement credit, sales and operational processes, exception reporting and controls

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Applied Math, Business Analytics or other quantitative fields;
  • Experience in the CreditLens tool is an asset;
  • Experience in reporting business performance, process improvement and risk assessment;
  • Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, R, etc.;
  • Seven or more years of “hands on” or formal programming experience with SQL-based technologies: PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.;
  • Exceptional knowledge in data reporting and visualization tools: Tableau, Data Studio, Power BI, Google Script; Google Analytics/Google Suite of products; BigQuery, etc.;
  • Data Engineering – data manipulation and productization of the use of data. Topics include dimension reduction, feature engineering, tagging / annotation;
  • Data cleansing, data curation, data harmonizing and packaging - cleaning data, identifying relationships between data, pattern recognition and web scraping;
  • Data visualization and dashboard - generating the easy-to-understand visualization and convey the meaningful information to suitable audiences;
  • Data validation and troubleshooting - testing the final reports against the source data or desired results, and addressing the break-fix tickets;
  • Knowledge of any of the following would be an asset: Commercial and Credit lending; Business banking; Capital and financial market; Risk-adjusted Pricing; Capital Management; Economic Capital;
  • Experience of solving the business problems in a quantitative, efficient and reliable way;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional presentation skills with the ability to deliver technical issues to both technical and non‐technical audiences in a clear and understandable manner;
  • Mentors, guides and coaches junior colleagues;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and establish priorities to manage multiple topics;
  • Highly developed detailed analytical skills combined with an ability to ‘see’ beyond the numbers to identify trends and to understand the underlying causes of those trends. Must be able to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality, while meeting time sensitive deadlines;
  • Quality control mindset and attention to detail, balanced by an intuitive determination of practicalities and application of reasonableness;
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact with Senior Management and Executive in communications and presentations;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
