Job Description

The Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity to join Experian’s Data Management team which is responsible for the governance, integration, alignment, availability, standards and quality of key data in the corporate data lake.

Role Summary:

We power fact-based decision making by providing data curated datasets in the data lake to continuously improve our business.  The junior data analyst will play a key role in defining, creating, and delivering powerful interactions data for a substantial part of our business and will partner closely with multiple business partners to provide data and insights to drive operational improvements. 

This is a critical role that will enable and support our global data and business intelligence strategy.

You will be able to embrace and drive change and to lead global cross-functional data-related projects as well as being data savvy, technically minded and capable of quickly gaining a deep knowledge and understanding of Experian’s wide-ranging systems landscape aa well as continually evolving complex data hierarchies, reporting structures and business intelligence requirements and priorities.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders on their data needs and data related requests. Work with the businesses and document their requirements and translate to a technical verbiage for IT to implement.
  • Own and understand the documentation and sign off of business requirements to ingest and curate data in the data lake
  • Ensure that data in data lake is accurate and trustworthy – ensure processes, validation and automation is in place
  • Establishes, documents, and monitors clear data governance and data standards to ensure the standardization, integrity, and quality of the data contained therein. Reviews and updates all data standards periodically as needed
  • Suggest metrics/KPIs to monitor data quality and usage and proactively initiates actions to permanently resolve any identified issues.
  • Collaborates with GFS and functional stakeholders on new or changing master data requirements, providing expertise and guidance in the appropriate and optimal way to integrate the necessary data sources to achieve the desired business requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Intelligence teams to develop standard data tracking and reporting for the R&A organization and ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency.
  • Partners with Global Corporate Systems and Services (GCSS) to develop efficient and effective integration of new and incremental data sources into the Enterprise Data Lake, ensuring adequate testing and sign-off and
  • initiating actions to ensure that any data is thoroughly cleansed/corrected before allowing it to be integrated into the Enterprise Data Lake.
  • Attends / engages in data related projects and changes that impact the Enterprise Data Lake, including but not limited to:
  1. Acquisition integration
  2. Divestments
  3. Data migration
  4. Changes to Financial Reporting Standards and other compliance requirements
  5. Implementation of new systems or roll-out of existing systems across new geographies/business lines
  6. Changes to data requirements triggered by internal or external factors and organizational changes / Restructuring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in data science, computer science, engineering or similar with atleast 1-2 years of working experience in related field/managing data
  • Technical knowledge in database, SQL language is an added advantage
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication as well as the role will be supporting global countries & ability to work independently
  • Ability communicating technical complexities clearly and concisely.
