Over the last ten years, SaaS has changed the way we work — for the better. Slack instead of email. Miro instead of sticky notes. Airtable instead of Excel. SaaS is helping tech companies move so much faster, but it’s also introducing a new surface area of risk they’ve never seen before. The risk of leaking sensitive data. As a result, companies are faced with answering the difficult question of how to manage compounding security risks as they grow without introducing more red tape that slows their team members down.
At Metomic, we help tech companies save time & reduce costs by minimising their sensitive data footprint in cloud applications like Slack, Google Drive and Zendesk.
Our technology includes native integrations with dozens of cloud apps, AI to detect thousands of sensitive data types, and advanced functionality to manipulate data at scale (redaction, retention, access controls, etc). All from one place. This liberates tech companies to make full use of their favourite SaaS apps as they grow, whilst Metomic takes care of all the security risks behind the scenes.
After launching our product in April 2021, we now count some of the world’s most innovative companies as customers, such as Zego, Clearcover, Omnipresent, Travelperk and Jumio. Our revenue is growing quickly and we’re backed by some great investors like Connect (investors in CityMapper, Typeform, Marvel), LocalGlobe (Improbable, Figma, Zego) and RFC (Hopin, Clubhouse, On Deck, etc).
Our Team
Over the past year, our sales team (now 8 strong!) have taken our product to market and have been iterating our value proposition. We count some of the world’s most innovative companies as customers, such as Jumio, Zego, Clearcover, Omnipresent and TravelPerk. We’re entering a really exciting period in our growth journey and are now hiring our first Pre-Sales / Data Analyst role to own and scale our pre-sales data work.
You will quickly develop into a product expert and partner with our Account Executives to deliver complex sales requirements. You'll also own (and scale globally!) our Risk Review process - this is our proof of concept where we integrate with our prospect or customer's SaaS tools and demonstrate how valuable our product is.
We take learning and career development seriously and want Metomic to be an environment where you can grow and develop your skills down whatever path you’re most interested in. Several of our sales team have moved into more specialised roles, been promoted to new roles, or taken on people leadership responsibilities. We also have sales learning forums and ‘Revenue Hour’ where we come together as a team to move things forward and invest time in our own upskilling.
What you'll be doing
- Develop deep product expertise - Build a deep understanding of our product and industry to position yourself as a trusted advisor and expert to our customers and prospects around their data risks.
- Own our Risk Audit process - Risk Audits are our proof of concept where we integrate with our prospect or customer’s SaaS tools, uncover the most important data risks, insights, and demonstrate the capabilities of our product. You will own this process between our Sales, Product and Customer Success teams, including how we streamline this and scale the process globally.
- Understand sales requirements - Partner and support Account Executives with complex sales requirements and prospect pain points to ensure we have a clear understanding of what we’re solving.
- Design impactful solutions & presentations - Prepare high-impact presentations for our Account Executives to present to stakeholders and decision-makers that demonstrate our understanding of their requirements, risks and pain points, and how we will ensure our solution delivers significant value to their business
- Solution Evaluation - Seek to understand how solutions will be evaluated and support customers with this evaluation process, ensuring key technical, security and product requirements are met.
- Product feedback - Be an interface between our Sales, Customer Success, Product, Marketing and Engineering teams ensuring customers’ feedback and needs are shared transparently to support the product roadmap.
Requirements
- Demonstrable ability in data analysis - We generate insights from large data sets during our Risk Reviews. You don’t need to be a data scientist or Data Engineer, but we’re looking for analytics chops, be it working with Retool, writing SQL or you might just be seriously good with a spreadsheet!
- Understanding a client's needs - You’ll have the ability to investigate a client's data set and build a relevant data story to highlight the value of Metomic’s product. Each client is unique, so it’s essential we tailor our findings!
- Experience supporting sales functions as Pre-Sales data expert, Sales Engineering or Solutions Engineering - You’ll be familiar with working with a technical or data-heavy product.
- A strong listener who is inquisitive and curious - you’ll be building relationships, asking probing questions, actively listening to pain points and understanding how prospective customers might benefit from Metomic.
- Strong technical understanding, capability and willingness to learn and develop skills daily, whilst being a team player with a ‘can-do’, in a growing organisation.
- A ‘deliver for today, build for tomorrow’ mindset - You’ll be our first hire into pre-sales and will own one of our most critical business processes - Risk Reviews. Over time, we expect this team to grow and we’ll look to you around how we build a systematic approach to risk reviews and scale pre-sales globally.

- Bachelor's degree in Economic, Science, Data or equivalent practical experience
Our recruitment process
We know your time is important and want to make sure our recruitment process provides both of us a really authentic and meaningful insight into what it would be like working together, so we’re planning on the following stages:
- Intro Call (30 mins) This will focus on your motivations and interests, your journey to date and some of the experiences you’ve had, along with a chance to share more about Metomic.
- Skills Interview (1 hour) This will focus on your experience, decision-making and approach to pre-sales.
- Practical Interview (1 hour). This will involve a practical activity requiring you to interpret a data set and deliver a high-impact presentation.
- Team Interviews (1 hour) - This will be an opportunity to speak with other members of our team that you would be working with and learn more about our journey and culture.

Compensation
- Our range is £45-60k base + Commission
- Our success is your success, so you’ll receive equity (under our tax-efficient EMI options scheme) as part of our annual grant process.
