The Staff Data Analyst supports the execution of the data analytics roadmap to improve the company wide availability, speed, and quality of data and analysis.  This position owns the lifecycle of projects and data through partnership with internal and external stakeholders, including, but not limited to, data infrastructure, data governance, dashboards, etc.  The Senior Data Analyst serves as a subject matter expert for others in the business.

What you'll be doing:

Building & Maintaining Analysis & Reporting, Promoting Innovation:

  • Build data visualizations and analysis in tools like Tableau dashboards, python notebooks, and repeatable shareable analysis
  • Identify and share data insights around the observations found from data exploration and analysis
  • Create recommendations and drive change alongside other leaders based on analysis and findings
  • Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to establish scalable data infrastructure and data governance
  • Help promote data innovation across Workrise with a willingness to experiment and to confront hard and complex problems
  • Utilizes advanced analytics techniques (ie. Machine Learning) where applicable, understanding when different methods are appropriate for the problem at hand

Business Trends and Mentoring:

  • Stays up to date on current and emerging industry trends and best practices in data analysis, data infrastructure, and advanced analytics
  • Makes recommendations to management and leads efforts of improvement regarding programs, processes, etc. that improve the Data team’s impact
  • Provides support and mentorship to others on the team, sharing insights, knowledge, and experience
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for business partners across the organization

Roadmap Support, Leading Projects:

  • Partner with Data team leaders to ensure that the team roadmap is focused on areas that will improve company wide availability, speed, and quality of data and analysis
  • Own projects from start to finish, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to understand business challenges. Depending on scope, could include guiding other Data team members
  • Works with the Analytics and Data Engineering teams to codify data requirements and data transformations needed to help solve business problems
  • Develops, documents, and follows processes and standards other analysts can easily use and emulate

What you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of years of proven experience in business analytics, business intelligence or comparable role
  • Strong track record of identifying areas of improvement/opportunities for the business through data analysis and driving change alongside department leaders as a result
  • Experience with presenting findings and analysis to executive level audiences
  • Experience in building out semantic data layers that increase speed to insights and codify team data knowledge
  • Expert proficiency in SQL/Python with a proven ability to aggregate, gather and manipulate data
  • Expertise in working with large and disparate data sets, including data collection processes, data analysis, and writing reports on findings of the research
  • Experienced creating & presenting dashboards and reports in data visualization/business intelligence tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Hex, etc.)
  • Exposure to advanced analytics techniques, ie. machine learning
  • Strong organizational, planning, quantitative and analytical skills; strategic and creative thinking with keen business judgment, focus, and ability to see the "big picture"
  • Comfort in a dynamic, fast-moving, Agile, and matrix work environment
  • Experience with deploying and utilizing AI/Machine Learning in production preferred
  • Experience with utilizing code repositories (ie. github) preferred
  • Experience with building DataOps pipelines preferred
