Senior Backend Engineer, Data Infrastructure, Tracking (Java)

PicsArt is looking for a proficient Backend Engineer to join the Tracking team of the Data Infrastructure group. The goal of this team is to source, process, enrich and aggregate data from internal and external sources and platforms. The team is processing billions of events on a daily basis which is a very important part of the data infrastructure which helps Picsart make data-informed decisions for product and business development.

Responsibilities

• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Design, implement and maintain low-latency, highly available, and performant services
• Implement security and data protection
• Carry out performance analysis of applications, monitor and identify problems that can occur in development and production environments

Qualifications & Competencies

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development and in-depth knowledge of Java/Kotlin
• Hands-on experience in RESTful API design, system architecture as well as building microservice-based systems 
• Hands-on experience in building event-driven systems
• Excellent knowledge of relational and NoSQL (such as MongoDB, Apache Cassandra) databases
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools
• Experience building containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with modern logging and monitoring solutions
• Knowledge of build systems like Gradle and Maven
• Experience in test-driven development
• Experience working in an Agile environment

As a big plus

• Experience building cloud-native applications using AWS or GCP, as well as infrastructure as code tools (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience working with any of the following: Redis, Vert.x, Elasticsearch
• Experience working with Node.JS and TypeScript
• To have a DevOps mindset
