Rockstar Games is on the lookout for talented individual who can provide front-end tools and applications for multiple teams and departments in the company especially Code, Production and Technical Artists to help develop and support our titles. We are looking for someone who is passionate about games, eager for new challenges, and ready to continue our legacy of creating the greatest games.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of Rockstar’s unique game development studio in heart of Manhattan.

WHAT WE DO

  • We develop internal telemetry technologies that handle a substantial amount of development related data and need to adapt to the fast-paced environment of game development with ever changing requirements and scopes.
  • We are a global team of programmers and data engineers who collaborate to create tools and applications that are beneficial for different departments giving them insights, alerts, and assisting overall with the different game development cycles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development of front-end features and applications utilizing different technologies and frameworks.
  • Participate in designing the back-end and data models to better serve the telemetry system as a whole and the different views. With high emphasis on performance.
  • Collaboration with other Rockstar technology teams across our worldwide studios.
  • Help writing and maintaining documentation and writing technical documents aimed for advanced users.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Great communication skills as a core member of an internationally based team.
  • Passion for web technologies and a desire to remain up to date with the latest technologies.
  • Practical programming knowledge (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Python).
  • Experience with debugging, unit testing code and CI/CD best practices.

SKILLS

  • Expert in JavaScript and visualization libraries like AmCharts, Tabulator, OpenLayers, etc.
  • Expert In jQuery and asynchronous concepts.
  • Expert in HTML & CSS.
  • Experience connecting frontend views with various backends like Elasticsearch, s3, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
  • Experience with web development frameworks like ReactJS, NodeJS, Flask, Django, etc.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with shared code and use of source control platforms.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development processes.

PLUSES

Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.

  • Experience using Visual Studio Code as an IDE.
  • Experience working on responsive websites and applications.
  • Experience with TypeScript.
  • Experience with C/C++.
  • Familiar with workflow management platforms like Airflow, Jenkins, etc.
  • Appreciation of software development best practices.
  • Passion for games (especially Rockstar Games titles).

The pay range for this position in New York City at the start of employment is expected to be between $89,500 and $119,400 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
