Data Analyst

We are looking for a Jr. data analyst to join our growing team of data analytics experts and manage the processes and people responsible for accurate data collection, processing, modeling and analysis. The ideal candidate has a knack for seeing solutions in sprawling data sets and the mindset to convert insights into strategic opportunities for our company. The Jr. data analyst will work closely with other departments like research department, social media and data analytics team to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions. They will use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from primary data and leverage these insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes. The right person for the job will apply their exhaustive knowledge of data analysis to solving real-world problems faced by our company and finding opportunities for improvement across multiple projects and teams.

To do well in this role you need a very fine eye for detail, experience as a data analyst, and a deep understanding of the popular data analysis tools and databases. Knowing and having worked with political data and understanding politics

Requirements

• Combine business knowledge, insights, statistical techniques and data mining techniques to identify behavioral trends in electoral and demographic data

• Work with large sets of data and need to see through the data and analyze it to find conclusions.

• Identify and interpret trends or patterns in data sets

• Develop political campaigns and strategies using data points

• Aid in the design and development of interactive dashboards

• Conduct research and make recommendations that impact strategic business direction

• Work closely with the research team to solve business problems

• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms - linear regression, logistic regression, KNN, Random Forest, Support Vector Machines, Clustering, and Natural Language Processing

• Strong knowledge of the sampling, selection biases, normalization techniques, and distributions

• Enhancing data collection techniques, data mining, analyze the data and build models around it

• Ability to perform ad-hoc analysis and present the results in a detailed structure.

• Work with socio-economic, socio-demographic and electoral data and map them on a village- level

• Expertise in Python/R for performing data analysis and visualization

• Expertise in machine learning algorithms implementation using Python/R.

• Knowledge of any data presentation tool like D3.JS, Matplotlib, Tableau etc.

• At least 2 years’ experience in Data Analysis

• Should have knowledge on Regression, Clustering, Classification and Image Recognition Algorithms

• Experience of crawling and scraping websites to retrieve contents/documents

• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or other related fields

• Preferred: Experience working with GIS tools - QGIS/ArcGIS, Leaflet JS
