Location:This role can work remotely from anywhere in Amman, Jordan.
What will you do?Bixal seeks a Knowledge and Data Management (KDM) Specialist to support the USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) in Syria (based in Amman, Jordan) on a five-year activity. The KDM Specialist will support the team and USAID to provide access to independent, verifiable data via various methods such as digital tools and capacity for knowledge management, promoting knowledge sharing within BHA and with other key stakeholders and implementing partners regarding program interventions, Monitoringresults, and lessons learned.
Important Note:This is a full-time proposal position contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with project leadership to develop KM Plans as part of a holistic knowledge management and learning strategy. Adjust the strategy based on data and continuous reviews of tools and approaches. 
  • Optimize and maintain the Syria BHA third party monitoring reporting platform/dashboard.  
  • Support USAID in utilizing additional KM tools and methods, including digital tools. 
  • Support and oversee development of knowledge products (e.g., learning briefs, case studies, and other technical products) and creation of data-driven visualizations (e.g., infographics, story maps) for internal and external audiences.  
  • Curate, prepare, and disseminate activity-related information, learning, research findings, and sector trends through news digests, programming and policy summaries, literature reviews.   
  • Manage and facilitate internal and external knowledge sharing events such as seminars, webinars, online discussions, or in-person events, as needed.  
  • Oversee creation of interactive web-based features, dashboards, and databases, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, public relations, marketing, communications, or related field.  
  • At least 7 years of post-graduate experience working in a non-profit, government, or corporate setting with a focus on data and knowledge management.  
  • At least 3 years of knowledge and data management experience.  
  • Experience working in the KM and data management function on USAID-funded projects.  
  • Expertise in developing and implementing a wide range of knowledge management activities, including knowledge products, website development, digital campaigns (e.g., e-newsletters, social media strategy, traditional media engagement, success stories) as well as written collateral and products.  
  • Strong knowledge of or experience working in international development 
  • Deep expertise in systems strengthening, adult learning principles, creative problem-solving, and effective communications.  
  • Demonstrated English oral and written communications skills.  
  • Proficient in web-based technology, social media, and digital strategy.  
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team with a high degree of sensitivity and cultural competence.
