Job Description

We are currently seeking a Summer Intern, Data Analyst & Analytics, to join our team based in Informa’s Austin office. Our Data & Analytics team and Research teams are made up of colleagues from varying backgrounds located across the globe. As a member of the Data & Analytics team, you’ll be responsible for gathering, processing and analyzing data across all lines of business (media, events, and research) within the Applied Intelligence and Media & Entertainment pillars to understand the drivers of our business and make data-informed recommendations to improve performance at scale. In this role, you will: 

• Work closely with Data Analysts and market segment and function stakeholders to build and produce data products, provide analysis, and make recommendations based on that analysis 

• Clean, analyze and extract insight from imperfect data 

• Understand and translate business questions into data questions, and then into actionable analytics 

• Provide insight into the following key topics: 

• Converting audience from unknown to known 

• Audience engagement and interaction with our content and market offerings 

• Increasing average revenue per user, lifetime value, and retention metrics 

• Efficiency and effectiveness of market segment operations and delivery 

• Increasing market share through competitive profiling and positioning 

• Support with ad hoc requests as needed 

• Participate in Internship Program activities including onboarding, information sessions, and social events 

Qualifications

• Legally permitted to work in the United States 

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program pursuing a degree in economics, business, math, computer science, IT, engineering, or other STEM field at an accredited 4-year college or university 

• Minimum of two years of relevant coursework completed 

• Minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average, on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent 

• Demonstrated leadership experience through participation in on-campus activities, educational forums and/or prior work experience 

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint  

• Intermediate to advanced skills in data cleaning, manipulation and analysis, preferably utilizing Microsoft Excel, Python, R, or Power BI.  

• Experience visualizing data (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Domo, Looker, etc.) 

• Ability to utilize scripting languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, R) a plus 

• Ability to quickly learn new software/platforms 

• Ability to be analytical, solve problems and make the data tell a story that others can engage with and act on 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and collaborate with others 

• Ability to move quickly, keep projects on track, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
