Job Description

The Epsilon Data Practice has industry leading data, which we use to uncover insights for our clients and develop audiences for targeted, omni-channel marketing programs. The Senior Director, Data Strategy will be responsible for driving use of our data as foundational data that helps our clients identify their customers, understand who they are, what they care about and how they spend and support both clients and internal teams on data strategy. This position will include a quarterly incentive component that will be based upon achievement of the Data Strategy Team revenue target.  This is a client facing role, with the opportunity to evolve our product solution and positioning, so we maximize performance for our clients. 

The role requires someone who is proactive, versatile and a skilled communicator, who is ready to work with multiple partners both internally and externally. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience working with multiple clients’ teams and possess strong knowledge and experience with the marketing ecosystem.  The candidate will have the opportunity to use some of the most unique data in the industry to craft marketing solutions that exceed client expectations. 

Accountabilities 

  • Manage Analytics and Insights opportunities for all verticals throughout the opportunity lifecycle 
  • Manage Data Licensing opportunities throughout the opportunity lifecycle 
  • Submit contract drafts to legal as requested 
  • Support Account Management and Business Development to scope opportunities for assigned verticals 
  • Develop solution proposal, test and rollout plan, pricing and ensure the final deliverables meet expectations 
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline, including managing opportunities throughout the sales process (including contracts) and reporting on status 
  • Work with Data Client Services and Stats/Analytics and Product Management to ensure research and revenue jobs are completed in a timely and accurate manner 
  • Ensure analytical support is provided and proper analysis of results is completed 
  • Help compile and present results to the client 
  • Prepare pipeline management reports, Salesforce.com and MFC reports as requested  

Role 

  • SME for Epsilon Data assets. 
  • Lead agency and client relationships for data, including driving awareness, education and upsell. 
  • Drive use and sales of Epsilon Data by identifying use cases, top client opportunities, and incremental Data Sales opportunities. 
  • Develop client pipeline, usage goals, upsell opportunity and track success. 
  • Develop strong relationships with agency and Marketing Tech teams to support client objectives and how data can support. 
  • Strong cross functional understanding and relationships with client services, product, analytics, and IT. 
  • Recommend product enhancements, changes and new developments based on identifying product gaps and customer needs. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • 10-15 years industry experience 
  • Independence and initiative - independent thinker and working style. 
  • Very strong knowledge of Epsilon taxonomy of data across TSP, Tx Spend and Shopper’s Voice – online and offline. 
  • Exceptional communication & presentation skills. Ability to elevate the conversation to client’s needs and objectives, and also dig into details and process flows. 
  • Flexible - demonstrated experience working effectively with multiple stake holders. 
  • Strong analytical skills, including numbers and situational analyses, and high attention to detail. 
  • Problem solving skills 
  • Organization and project management skills, including effective cross-functional management skills. 
  • Team player 
  • Able to prioritize work, and shift priorities as needed to meet aggressive deadlines and milestones. 
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
