Data Scientist (f/m/d)

We are looking for a talented data scientist to help us better understand our students to help them change their careers. You’ll push the product and the business forward, focusing on solving fundamental problems in the educational field.

CareerFoundry is building the most human-centric online education experience for career changers in tech. We are a startup with nationalities from over 30 countries who value learning, growing, and working in an integrative, collaborative, and transparent environment.

This is a full-time position based in Berlin, Germany. We are a remote-first company but will still have regular in-person meetings when the health situation allows. Being based in Germany (but not Berlin) is still required by labour law.

What you’ll work on:

• Drive more data-backed decisions and advocate for a data-driven culture at CareerFoundry
• Develop and improve ML/AI projects to solve complex problems in the educational area in collaboration with other Data Scientists and Data Engineers
• Partner closely with product and education teams to influence product and curriculum decisions with data-information
• Build actionable KPIs, produce research, and scalable data products
• Apply specialised skills and fundamental data science methods to improve services focused on education
• Define and advocate best practices within data science and product teams

Your background:

• Experience with software engineering fundamentals
• Solid understanding of data processing using advanced SQL techniques / other
• Experience with applied statistics, quantitative and qualitative modelling and their applications in business
• Competence building modern machine learning models using Python or Scala
• Experience integrating models into data pipelines and decision-making infrastructures using GCP or other
• Excellent ability to interact with cross-functional teams
