Job Description
This will be a hybrid role, in part providing product ownership while also being a hands-on member of the scrum team.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for owning the team’s backlog, assisting the Head of department in defining the product roadmap and ensuring the process of writing user stories is completed. You will also be owning the product backlog, prioritising items in it and being responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the product in the live environment and through release of new features. You will work with the team and wider stakeholders to deliver value for the department – both tactical revenue generating features and development that will ensure the longer term resilience of the product.
You will also be involved with requirements gathering, planning and development. This may include running feedback sessions with clients or stakeholders, working with developers and analyst to design products, creating dashboards, writing SQL scripts or testing requirements. The role will require a detailed technical understanding of all tools and how these translate to client benefit
Qualifications
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Essential requirements:
- Strong understanding of Agile software development lifecycles
- Experience working with Agile planning tools, such as Jira and Aha! to deliver plans and showcase team objectives and progress
- Prepared to challenge the status quo and coach others to do likewise to enable improvements
- Strong senior leadership skills including coaching, stakeholder management and business change management
- Works collaboratively, leads by example and inspires the trust of others
- A commercial mindset – the ability to understand the commercial goals behind our data analysis activity
- Excellent presentation and communication skills – particularly strong in explaining and presenting complex data and analytical finding to non-technical audiences.
- An innovative approach – the ability to generate the nurture innovative ideas and solutions, and then bring them to fruition
- Strong SQL coding skills (T-SQL, Postgre SQL)
- Experience with technical delivery, knowledge of release cycle and testing approach
- Strong numerical background
Desirable requirements:
- Tableau or other data visualisation experience
- Knowledge of data warehousing, preferably in Amazon Redshift
- Experience project managing the delivery of technical solutions
- Knowledge and experience using programming and/or statistical languages (e.g. Python, R Studio etc.)
- Experience in an Analytical role within either Banking, Financial Services or the Credit industry
