To make our model work, data needs to be at the heart of every decision that we make. As such, we are looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our EU Supply Chain team to develop models, tools and insights across all aspects of our supply chain. The primary responsibility of Supply Chain is to make sure that the right products are in the right place at the right time with the right number of staff available to ensure a fantastic customer experience in terms of both availability and delivery. This role is crucial in helping to support and optimise the tools, processes and policies required to achieve this goal.
You will support the rapid growth of our business by developing models, tools and analysis that drive improvements across our supply chain. You will also be heavily involved with process optimisation and root-cause diagnostics. You will have the opportunity to develop innovative approaches to the complex problems we need to solve, and will work alongside other EU Analysts and our centralised Engineering teams in order to play a role in our wider data community.

You Will:

  • Partner with our existing Supply Chain team to both enhance existing and develop new models used for e.g. S&OP demand forecasting, units per order forecasting, inventory capacity utilisation modelling etc…
  • Partner with our central US Data Science team to influence and adopt their global best practices.
  • Develop innovative measurement and analytical approaches that build our understanding of all aspects of our supply chain performance.
  • Interact with other Operations teams to use the output of forecasting models to help to build staff scheduling models.
  • Answer complex business questions through detailed quantitative analysis and experimentation, extracting meaningful and actionable insights for the EU Leadership Team.
  • Partner with our central Data Science, Analytics & Data Engineering teams to implement reliable & scalable data pipelines to put your models into production, and to gather the information you need.
  • Work with other data professionals in the team to help to further develop a centre of data and numerical excellence within Supply Chain and the wider Operations teams.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in an analytics or data science role - preferably in fields related to grocery, trading, marketing, or consumer product.
  • A deep understanding of statistical analysis, particularly approaches to time series forecasting, optimisation methodologies and simulation..
  • Expertise in SQL and Python, having worked with large and fast moving data sets.
  • Experience with both gSheets Apps Script (javascript) and dbt is also a strong plus.
  • Experience developing automated workflows and interacting with APIs.
  • A strong and confident communicator, with good knowledge of data visualisation and storytelling.
  • A High degree of curiosity, comfortable gathering and analysing large amounts of data across a variety of business dimensions.
