The finance transformation program is a truly global program to transform Dentons' finance function into the business partnering function of the future. It will support the business by offering true business insight, efficient and effective processes while maintaining the necessary compliance and controls. The regional finance systems transformation team is responsible for the implementation of this programme for our 26 offices across Europe. The multi-disciplinary team is made up of subject matter experts from the Finance team as well as technical experts and consultants. The team is based across many of the Dentons Europe offices.

The role will work very closely with the Europe Finance Systems team and Finance department PMO as well as counterparts in other regions and the Global Transformation team. This is a Europe-wide role, and the successful candidate is expected to work with all areas of the business to make sure that all proposed changes are aligned to business needs.

The Data Analyst will work with the Data Team to assist with data conversion tasks such as mapping, validation, and testing, from our primary PMS and the many local systems we have across Dentons Europe. The successful candidate will be working closely with other Regional and Global technical and front-line finance teams to allow for successful conversions and migrations across our many finance systems. We are offering 2-years b2b contract, with the opportunity to extensions.

Responsibilities

  • Validate and integrity checking of the system data
  • Creating, executing, and analyzing of validation SQL scripts
  • Reconcile and balance financial data
  • Identify any data and/or system issues and be able to document these to help with triaging.
  • Support the Data Team as required
  • Creating data flow maps and visualisations of data, which can be easily understood by business stakeholders.
  • Undertaking your work in accordance with the organisations policies and principles.
  • Mentoring and transferring knowledge to regional analysts in the business to ensure that the selected solution can be successfully transitioned for ongoing maintenance and development in business-as-usual.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, to present complex findings and technical detail in an accessible way to stakeholders.
  • Experience of collaborating with and influencing business and technical stakeholders, especially in eliciting tacit knowledge.
  • The ability to clearly articulate progress against the project plan, identifying blockers and dependencies on the project and communicating these
  • Effective and collaborative working relationships, working well in a project team to achieve results.
  • Highly organised and efficient with great attention to detail and precision.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a data analyst
  • Previous experience in using SQL (Intermediate) or Excel (Advanced) for the acquisition and storage of relevant quantitative and qualitative data
  • Significant experience in a transformation programme with an Integration, Data Conversion and Data focus.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field.
  • Excellent level of business English
  • Capabilities in German, Italian, Polish, Turkish would be an advantage
  • Experience with large system implementations, data mapping and data visualisation is essential.
  • Experience of working in environments that have undergone substantial changes (e.g. mergers, combinations etc)
  • Inquisitive and keen to learn new technologies
  • Experience of delivering projects across multiple jurisdictions in a large global organisation
  • Self-motivated and flexible to work autonomously, coupled with the ability to work in virtual teams and matrix/global organisations including appreciation of different cultures
  • Tenacious in making things happen and team spirited, ability to think long term and have a collaborative attitude that supports and helps the team
  • A great eye for detail and proactive thinker
