Job Description

We are looking for an Intern in Data Analytics to join our Data-as-a-Service team.

The Data-as-a-Service team is responsible for leveraging the large amount of data that Shippeo has been acquiring over the course of running the platform and rolling it out to multiple shippers and carriers, to get insights from it and deliver data products that fall into the following categories:

  • analytics (e.g., dashboards for internal use, dashboards embedded on the Shippeo platform),

  • decision support tools,

  • data extraction,

  • newsletters.

Some features the team builds and improves are Shippeo customer-facing and internal dashboards. We are constantly looking for new ways and new KPIs:

  • to highlight operational issues and trends and exhibit them to our customers,

  • to monitor the quality of the data generated on Shippeo platform,

  • to measure the usage of Shippeo features by our different users and to leverage actions to optimize this usage.

As an intern, your missions will mainly consist in:

  • Building reporting dashboards of data quality of Ocean and Road flows
    Internal stakeholders need dedicated tools:

    • to monitor the data quality of our ocean flows and to help them leverage actions to clean data issues - data quality is key for our Ocean customers to successfully, accurately and timely track their containers,

    • to communicate on the data quality of our road flows and to help our customers improve their tracking, the visibility of their operations performance and of their carbon emissions.

Your role will be to build new tools, maintain them and the existing ones, fetch and transform the data you will need, and provide suggestions of solutions to improve the monitoring of the data quality.

  • Running analysis of root causes for performance issues : Road transportation can meet various operational issues impacting punctuality and conformity of transport orders. These issues are not reported by carriers or shippers, yet a large amount of data is processed throughout the Shippeo platform with insightful information waiting to be unraveled. You will be in charge of running investigations in the data at your disposal to highlight what root causes of carrier performance issues could be highlighted and reported to our customers. Eventually, you will be providing guidelines on what and how to show these insights on the Shippeo platform.

Your missions will also include:

  • Understanding the current data pipeline used by Shippeo to build analytics products,

  • Understanding the requirements and defining the business problems,

  • Fetching data from various data sources,

  • Performing various analyses through the use of statistical analysis and data visualization techniques,

  • Communicating your findings to various stakeholders,
