Job Description

As the Senior BI Developer your role is to apply your technical expertise and experience to achieve the strategic goals of Clear Channel’s BI & Data Function. You'll work with decision makers in other Departments, Business Units, Teams and Squads to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization, communicating effectively any solution recommendations to the Principle BI Developer.

You are accountable for the design and implementation of BI software/services and systems, including integration with datastores, databases and data warehouses with a strong focus on strategic solutions. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out BI solutions to end users. As the Senior BI Developer you'll also be accountable for ensuring high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing. You provide mentorship to your junior colleagues to support them in delivering to their identified levels of competencies and help motivate them to exceed these classifications.


What you'll be doing;

  • Contribute to the long-term strategic goals for BI development in conjunction with end users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders. You’ll assist in the communication the BI & Data Roadmap with the stakeholder communities
  • Drive and deliver Cross functional working to improve performance, and work with other technical staff to develop data architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct research and present strong recommendations on data products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Become an authority in BI & Data in the OOH world. No prior knowledge is necessary, but curiosity to learn is a must. Success in leveraging this data for business impact will result in Clear Channel having a seamless, high quality data despite challenges posed by source systems, quality etc
  • Build and guide robust data pipelines of high data quality in a scalable fashion using any combination of tooling that you will consult on. We need to process data more quickly than ever to enable rapid experimentation in an increasingly nimble engineering organisation. You’ll be accountable for the implementation of our business logic, compatible with real-time/stream processing frameworks.
  • Partner with engineering teams, data scientists and others on how to use new data sources, raising the profile of the team.
  • Innovate and Increase the level of industrisation and corporate thinking to the design and management of our data, aligning with our visions. Collaborate directly with our business to help and shape the approach to meet agreed timelines
  • Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary.
  • Ensure online platform costs are monitored and managed effectively throughout the solution lifecycles
  • Provide direction and mentorship your junior colleagues within the BI & Data team, ensuring that essential skills and behaviors are developed and encouraged.

Who are you?

  • Solid experience in a similar role
  • Experience with tier-one cloud-based applications, datastores, databases, data warehouses and data management platforms, such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud and MS SQL Server, Azure Synapse, DataBricks (or notebooking equivalent), Analysis Services, Power BI and so on.
  • Strong working knowledge of one of either Python/PySpark programming languages.
  • Experience building production data pipelines wide range of datasets and tooling. Experience with distributed realtime data processing is a plus.
  • Demonstrable expertise in the application of SQL and data modeling concepts, in either a relational or data warehousing context.
  • Excellent communication, proactively sharing and seeking context to effectively collaborate with analytical and engineering partners.
  • Demonstrated ability with SSIS\ADF or equivalent\alternative ETL\ELT tools.
  • Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.
  • Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Full project management and development life cycle experience.
  • Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.
  • Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
