BayWa's "AI Center of Excellence" (AI CoE) supports BayWa's business units in identifying and implementing artificial intelligence use cases. The goal is to address the business units’ key challenges and to leverage their business opportunities. . In addition, the AI CoE lays the foundation for professional AI development at BayWa regarding IT infrastructure, organization, processes, and communication.
Job Description
- Be a full-fledged member of BayWa's AI CoE team
- Support the implementation of AI projects to solve business problems by creating prototypes and transforming them into productive solutions
- Apply statistical techniques to describe, prepare and explore data with Python, Jupyter Notebooks, MS PowerBI, and in other environments
- Develop AI models for forecasting and classification using appropriate methods and tools (e.g., scikit-learn)
- Support the definition of BayWa’s AI infrastructure and processes
- Document lessons learned in the AI CoE knowledge base
Qualifications
- Ongoing (Master’s) studies in mathematics, physics, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related subjects with above-average performance
- Experience in the implementation of data science & AI projects desirable
- Experience with relevant programming languages and environments (Python/Jupyter Notebooks, MS Excel and PowerBI, git, pandas, numpy, matplotlib) and knowledge of key machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost)
- Willingness to dig deep into business issues and look at use cases from a business perspective
- Strong motivation to build data-driven solutions in a complex business environment
- Hypothesis-driven, structured, and independent way of working, excellent communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and team skills
- Excellent language skills in German and English
- Ability to work at least on 3 days per week (on-site or remote)
