Use your highly developed numerical and spreadsheet skills to analyse product data and help us identify winners for our Mozo Experts Choice Awards.

What you'll be doing...

You will be responsible for scoping and gathering product knowledge and data to produce the information we will use to judge Mozo Expert Choice Awards.

You will then use your highly developed numerical and organisational skills to manage this information and provide the criteria, categorisations and calculations that determine the winners.

Awards are across a number of categories including banking, insurance, energy, telecoms and more. Categories are staggered throughout the year so you will be managing several in parallel, at different stages of the process.

You will be part of a team that supports our Mozo business, a banking, insurance and household services comparison site for Australians. We predominantly deal with the details of banking, insurance and other products; these are used on our consumer websites and are offered to industry participants as a competitor product comparison service, as well as being the main source of data you will work with in helping to judge our awards.

Key tasks include:

  • Review judging methodology to spot changes in the market that might suggest different methodology or filters, and agree to those with relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure we have the data we need (internally or via 3rd party) to output authentic and defendable Awards winners
  • Run quality checks on the data and set up scalable processes where applicable
  • Execute the data wrangling, filtering and calculations in order to come up with draft lists of award winners across the key categories
  • Write the methodology reports for each awards release
  • Lead the research to support the production of new awards categories
  • Continuous improvement of processes
  • You will also play a part in other ad-hoc projects related to the collection and quality of product data.

To be successful in this role you will need to be methodical, cautious, proactive, thoughtful.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...

  • Have a natural ability to absorb large amounts of product information data points, and be able perform analysis to support well-formed awards recommendations.
  • Bring strong experience with cleansing, manipulation and crunching of data, particularly advanced skills working with Google Sheets (or Excel, if you must).
  • Be able to make use of straightforward SQL select queries and simple Python or R scripts; previous experience is an advantage but not essential.
  • Be a methodical, structured and organised analyst,
  • Identify potential risks in processes or spreadsheets, and resolve them.
  • Proactively chase down points of contention or unknown data points.
  • Check and re-check.
  • Never assume, never settle for maybe.
