Our Opportunity:

We are seeking a forward-thinking, proactive Data Engineer to join our rapidly growing, innovative Tech Team. We are actively looking for a candidate who can combine excellent technical skills with advanced soft skills such as communication and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities:

The main purpose of this role is to contribute to the growth and maintenance of our data infrastructure and pipelines.  The Data Engineer is responsible for writing high integrity code to retrieve data from various sources and transform and load them into the data warehouse.

• Creating and maintaining ETL pipelines and data automation
• Implementing monitoring and alerting
• Creating new fact and dimension aggregated tables
• Making data related changes to our main software platform
• Interact with the Business Intelligence team to provide automation for various reports and extend the data warehouse schema with new fact and dimension tables as needed.
• Ensure the pipelines are monitored, alerts put in place, and quality of outputs maintained for data integrity and correctness.   
• Collaboration with the DBA and Atheneum’s main software development team will allow the Data Engineer to suggest and make data related optimizations in our main software platform. 

Requirements

Profiles We Are Seeking:

• 3+ years in a Data Engineer role
• Proficient in ETL pipelines, automation, AWS databases, with an established history of working with BI teams.
• Strong Python and Typescript
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with Redshift, MySQL and Postgresql
• Appreciation and knowledge of monitoring, alerting and metrics 
• Track record of building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and ETLs
• Experience with AWS cloud services: Redshift, RDS, EC2, Lambda, Glue

Desirable Skills & Experience 

• AWS DMS 
• BI tools, preferably Metabase or Tableau
