Redhorse Corporation is seeking a Data Scientist to provide support to DTRA’s Advanced Data Science Team (ADST), whose role is to maintain a responsive, flexible capability for rapid prototyping of data science solutions and capabilities (data integration, analysis, visualization, etc.) in support of Combating weapons of Mass Destruction/Counter Proliferation mission requirements. 
The Data Scientist will be responsible for big data analysis to support improvements to processes and systems, including the consolidation and analysis of structured and unstructured big data.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Creates metrics dashboards and proposes process improvements based on analytic findings. 
  • Identifies meaningful insights and communicates findings and recommendations.
  • Supports the development of information tools, algorithms, dashboards, and queries to monitor and improve business performance.
  • Maintains awareness of emerging analytics and big-data technologies. 
  • Influences development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results.
  • Recommends and develops new technical solutions, products, and/or standards in support of functional strategy and operations.
  • They possess demonstrated experience with cleaning, management, optimizing performance, and processing large volumes of data.
  • They are familiar with industry best-practices for software-hardware optimization when processing large data sets and have experience with machine learning, statically modeling, time-series forecasting, and/or geospatial analytics.
  • They possess experience with Hadoop, Spark, or other parallel storage/computing processes.

Minimum Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, and Credentials include:

  • An active TS/SCI security clearance is required for this role. Jobseekers who do not possess an active Secret security clearance will not be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related technical field.
  • 5 + years of profession work related experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to present concepts, ideas, and results to team members and clients.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
