What You Will Do

 We are continually onboarding and analyzing a massive amount of new products onto our Product Intelligence (PI) platform. This requires ongoing data creation, analysis, data accuracy, data innovation, and maintaining rigorous food and product data standards. Think of it as a Consumer Reports for food and consumer products that acts as a “source of truth” dataset documenting products across all sorts of dimensions (nutrition, health, dietary, climate/sustainability, ingredients, etc.).

To support these efforts, our Product Intelligence team is now looking for a highly detail-oriented Data Analyst, Climate and Sustainability to join our team of data attribute specialists in envisioning and executing our data attribution strategy and attribute roadmap across nutrition, health, dietary, ingredient and climate and sustainability attribute areas. This position will own various stages of the product/portfolio life cycle including the creation of requirements. The role will also be responsible for overseeing the development of our data attribution methodologies in the area of environmental, sustainability and production practices (carbon footprint, water usage, sourcing standards & certifications, fair trade certifications, animal welfare and husbandry, etc.) in addition to the PI health and wellness attribution. This position will participate in Voice of Customer conversations, help to synthesize customer feedback and shape the future of our approach to health, wellness and environmental concerns across our ecosystem. This role will work both as a project lead and in conjunction with PMs, PI leadership and key stakeholders across the technology, commercial and research teams.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for all go-forward data initiatives across our data attribute roadmap, including nutrition, health, dietary, ingredient and climate and sustainability attribute areas
  • Execute the Product Intelligence roadmap using internal and external feedback as well as data-driven insights to guide decision making
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing and Commercial teams to lead the attribute development process from idea generation to delivery (launch), including creating requirements, building, testing and managing project plans
  • Research and identify market needs and opportunities (future products and attributes) for Product Intelligence working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Use data and insight gathered from market research, client discussions and other customer feedback inputs to recommend and develop attribute requirements, in the environmental and sustainability space as well as other content areas
  • Lead the management and execution of various social and environmental focused projects to enhance product features related to hierarchy structure, product categorization, certification partnerships, data collection/ingestion and quality control
  • Work with Customer Success and Operations to identify support implications and training opportunities
  • Understand CPG/retail market as well as climate and sustainability related market trends, anticipate new opportunities and determine necessary adjustments in product plans

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Food Studies/Anthropology of Food, Food Science, Data Analytics, or other business or science-related field
  • 1+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a Data/Analytics, CPG/Food, or Sustainability focused organization
  • Familiarity in food, CPG, dietary supplements and personal care product labeling specifically as it relates to climate, sustainability and regulatory knowledge. Exposure in retail or consumer packaged goods natural/organic environment is a plus
  • Entrepreneurial drive to take ownership for assigned product strategy and execution to achieve growth goals
  • Strong ability to analyze raw volumes of data to perform trend analysis or other insights
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strength in resolving conflicts and negotiating for optimal outcomes while simultaneously taking a confident stand to solving problems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure, adhere to deadlines, deliver high-quality results and manage competing demands
  • Leadership skills - must be able to work across departments and management levels
  • Ability to analyze raw volumes of data to perform trend analysis or other insights
