Impact in this Role

The Data Engineering & Analytics team creates reports and dashboards to provide meaningful insights from the data warehouse. This team works very closely with cross-functional stakeholders, and leverages multiple Business Intelligence (BI) technologies to achieve these goals.

As the Growth Marketing Analytics/Data Analyst, you will join the Data Engineering team and partner with our Marketing and Sales Team to build, own and manage Full Funnel Customer Acquisition reporting, as well as customer life cycle marketing analysis. You will provide information and insights regarding customer buying behavior, from top of funnel all the way through to first purchase to help us determine campaign and conversion effectiveness for Fictiv. You will also be responsible for analyzing retention and expansion activities with our top accounts, and determine potential churn behaviors. You will also help us determine return on marketing investments, and overall CAC to ensure we are maximizing our potential and hitting our goals. You will be responsible for leading key marketing analytics projects, including market analysis, and annual planning, and work closely with leaders across the marketing organization to scope, create and deliver reporting, analysis and insights which drive both strategic and tactical go-to-market decision making by the marketing team. You will create tools in SigmaComputing, Salesforce, and Heap for business users to explore data and make data-driven decisions.

You will be responsible for understanding requirements, working with the team to create implementation plans, and providing thought leadership for all data reporting solutions to meet and exceed customer expectations. You will mentor and shepherd best practices amongst the extended cross functional to ensure appropriate hygiene of Fictiv’s reporting environments and to allow users to be self-sufficient.

You will partner with the Data Engineering & Analytics Director to support and scale our Marketing and Sales analytics. You will collaborate with peer Engineering technical leads in many different disciplines, Product Owners and Business Analysts to drive workflows and with stakeholders to understand and measure company goals.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop full funnel Marketing metrics (lead to cash), establish conversion baselines, and develop standards for reporting, measurement, and analysis.
  • Analyze Customer Acquisition Costs to determine optimal channels, content, target markets and customer targets.
  • Power of one reporting will be essential to analyze revenue improvements in any marketing levers by 1%.
  • Track and measure the performance of individual tactics, channels, and campaigns, and how they compare to one another and change the seasonality over time.
  • Develop a multi-touch pipeline attribution model to measure marketing effectiveness and impact on the customer lifecycle.
  • Calculate and track return on investment through customer acquisition cost and lifetime value.
  • Provide actionable insights to address critical strategic questions for improving product performance, marketing campaigns, website engagement, and increase revenue.
  • Work with Data Engineering to identify, connect, and consolidate disparate datasets across Marketing technologies and vendors.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation and enablement paths for the greater business in understanding and leveraging marketing reports, dashboards and data.
  • Subject Matter Expert on all Marketing data models, reports, dashboards and reporting techniques.
  • Collaborate with the Data team, providing design guidance, best practices guidance, mentoring and training where needed, to produce a data warehouse with reliable, stable, accurate data.
  • Act as a mentor to less technical stakeholders with best practices for writing reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure production database changes to event implementations are gracefully handled in the data warehouse.
  • Enjoy working with remote teams and people that have strong opinions.

Desired traits

Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Data Science, Data Analysis, Marketing or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of providing complex analysis reports in sales and marketing operations.
  • 4-6 years experience as a Data Analyst using BI tools.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, Heap, Fivetran and SigmaComputing (or similar BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker or Quicksight).
  • Experience using Salesforce, Marketo, Google Analytics or similar core business systems.
  • Proven experience working with complex datasets and writing SQL queries with multiple levels of CTEs directly.
  • Experience with customer lifecycle reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of BI concepts (regressions, sliding window functions, marketing funnel metrics, logistics and fulfillment metrics)
  • Experience with leading and coordinating cross-functional initiatives, conducting interviews and performing analyses to create business cases for projects.
  • Experience performing live training sessions for internal and external stakeholders during system and process implementation.
  • Must have strong communication skills and possess the ability to interact effectively with co-workers.
  • Must have strong leadership skills.
