KPMG Forensic assists clients prevent, detect and respond to fraud, serious misconduct, corruption and regulatory enquiries. We use a combination of specialist investigation, accounting, and technology skills in assisting clients in the investigation of fraud and corruption and in assisting them manage that risk.

KPMG Forensic has an opportunity for the right candidate to join their exciting and fast paced forensic team, specializing in forensic data analytics. Your Opportunity

As a KPMG Senior Consultant, you will:

  • Work with leading global organizations, regulators and law firms, as well as range of specialist departments within KPMG, to formulate and document requirements for identifying, investigating, and analyzing business processes, functions and control frameworks, using data driven solutions
  • Scope and carry out day-to-day management of engagements, including liaising with clients, assessing and analyzing data and documentation, and managing junior resources
  • Draft clear and concise reports that meet the clients’ needs and expectations within agreed timeframes, including delivering insights in respect of identified control breakdowns, inefficiencies and optimization of practices and system configuration
  • Utilize technology driven solutions in assisting clients proactively mitigate and detect indicators of fraud, corruption and other forms of serious non-compliance (e.g. through the use of forensic data analytics)
  • Developing and implementing data driven functional solutions
  • Coordinate multiple projects and workstreams, working closely with Forensic technology, and other KPMG departments where applicable
  • Provide on the job training and mentoring to junior staff, and contribute to team networking, innovation and thought leadership publications
  • Perform exploratory data analysis on disparate data sources

How are you extraordinary?

  • Investigating issues and calculating compensation to customers who were charged incorrectly charged fees
  • Investigate non-compliance to regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. requirements under AML/CTF legislation including: IFTI, SMR, TTR)
  • Investigating and quantifying impacts of wage underpayment issues
  • Providing data analytics support for fraud and misconduct investigations
  • Transaction monitoring for fraud, bribery & corruption, collusion, anti-money laundering, terrorism financing.
  • Providing data analytics support for economic loss assessments in the context of legal disputes

Qualifications

What makes you a good fit for the team?

  • Demonstrated experience in scoping, managing and delivering engagements
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role with a large professional consulting environment, or an in-house analytics team
  • Business development skills to identify how to help clients solve some of their most complex and difficult problems associated with fraud, corruption, financial crime, and other serious misconduct.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex information (financial / accounting insight is favourable)
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to review and articulate detailed findings in both written and oral presentations for a variety of audiences
  • Excellent time management, organisation and digital working skills
  • Proven leadership, people and stakeholder management capabilities, including the ability to manage a team of junior staff and manage multiple engagements concurrently
  • Understanding process and data flows across multiple, often disparate systems & databases and the ability to create process flow maps and explain them to key stakeholders
  • Degree holder with an Analytics, MIS, Statistics, Computing, Accounting or similarly relevant background
  • Tool agnostic data cleansing, manipulation & formatting skills using SQL
  • Automation – Knowledge of Python / Visual Basic Scripting desirable
  • SQL – Strong MS SQL / Teradata SQL / Oracle MySql required
  • Data Visualisation – Tableau / Power BI / Qlikview required
  • Microsoft Suite – Advanced Excel skills required. VBA scripting to develop excel macros a plus.
  • SAS – Knowledge of Base SAS (Win or UNIX) / SAS E-Guide / SAS E-Miner preferred
  • Statistical knowledge – predictive modeling (linear & logistic, simple & multivariate regression techniques) is a plus
  • Having worked in an agile environment is desirable
