Our teams create Bazaarvoice products that help companies understand the competitive positioning of their products.  A big area of business growth for Bazaarvoice will come from the efforts of our data teams.  Across more than 11,500 of the world’s leading brands and retailers, Bazaarvoice sees more 11 million reviews, images and questions added each month across millions of products.  Our data teams leverage these data sets to help our brand and retail clients build better products, build stronger relationships with their shoppers, and make decisions on when and where to offer products.  We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, big data pipelines. The position will focus on building and improving services that make it easier for internal teams to harness the power of existing data pipelines to keep data flowing through Bazaarvoice systems to support client use cases.
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:4+ years of experience building and supporting scalable, distributed systems using open source tools.Proven hands-on experience with Object Oriented programming languages and with at least 1 scripting language (ex. Java/C++/etc and Python/Ruby/etc.)An ability to demonstrate software engineering fundamentals such as OO design, unit testing, code reuse, code reviewsFamiliarity with modern build tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Github, etc.Comfort delivering within Agile development methodologies ex. Scrum/KanbanStrong analytical, technical, and communication skillsAn interest in using software engineering skills to learn about and enhance big data pipelines
Preferred Qualifications for the Role:Experience building large-scale data processing systems and data warehousing solutionsFamiliarity with one or more big-data technologies such as Hbase, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, etc.Working knowledge of at least 1 public cloud hosting provider (AWS (preferred), Google Cloud, Azure or similar) Educational Qualifications:B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech or equivalent#LI-Hybrid #LI-SR1
