BlueChip Financial (BCF) is looking for a qualified Data Engineer who loves building data ETL pipelines to help drive the direction of new and exciting greenfield projects that fuel our data analyst and data scientist teams. This position reports directly to the VP of Engineering.

In this role, you will

  • Design, write and deploy well-crafted and well-tested code in support of a large scale data processing and machine learning platform.
  • Help develop and deploy a next generation data platform
  • Monitor and maintain platform services, data pipelines and models in production
  • Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and product managers on requirements and priorities
  • Work with QA and DevOps engineers to deploy high quality, well tested, resilient code
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
  • Practice disciplined software engineering (e.g. automated testing, code reviews, and writing beautiful, pragmatic code)
  • Actively contribute to team and company-wide software standards

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

  • 3+ years hands-on Python development experience, and a strong understanding of the Python ecosystem.
  • Experience with Apache Flink preferred.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka is a strong plus
  • Proficient with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g.: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, ElasticSearch)
  • JVM experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience building real-time ETL data pipelines is a plus.
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies, such as Agile and Kanban
  • Knowledge of federal lending regulations is a plus.

Location and Travel

BCF is headquartered in Belcourt, North Dakota with a satellite office in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Atlanta, GA. This position can be located at either office, although travel to other offices will be required. Under normal (post-pandemic) circumstances, travel will also be required to attend industry conferences and may also be required for vendor management, both of which may vary at times. Total travel should flex between 10% and 30% per month.
